How do you feed your cats while on vacation?

We’re going on vacation for over a week, and we don’t have neighbors or family that we trust enough to look after them. Unfortunately taking them is not an option. We left a huge bowl of food and water the last time we went out of town, but they ate it all before we got back. Any suggestions?
