Banckrupt company in New Jersey owes me in California vacation pay. Do I have any rights to being paid?
Wednesday, December 16th, 2009L_christensen asked:
I worked in California for a company that was headquartered in New Jersey. They declared bankruptcy but they still owe me for 5 weeks of vacation. From my understanding, California treats vacation just like salary. Am I entitled to any of the finances that the company might still have, and if so, would I be placed at the top of the list for receipt?

When a company lists the total compensation for a job they often list paid vacation as a dollar amount.

Say your a salary worker and getting $800/wk, and the paid vacation is listed around $6000/yr.
How can you earn $6000/yr for vacation if your salary and get the same pay each week regardless?
Am I missing something? Do you actually get paid “more” while on vacation?

What is the exact definition for a vacation cash out?
Friday, April 3rd, 2009PlayinDaGame asked:
Doesn’t it mean that you are going to receive cash instead of going on vacation? Or does it mean that you can go on vacation and still get paid for the vacation cash-out? My dad said that one of his co workers was off for 5 days and only got paid for 4 days of the vacation. So does that mean my dad can also get off for 5 days and STILL get his vacation cash-out money?
