My wife is a legal immigrant to the US, and she is attending an Adult School in California to prepare for college. She told me that one of her classmates is paid by a government program (CALWorks) to attend that school. Apparently that student took two weeks off during the middle of the semester without the teacher’s permission, and it may impact her benefits. Should the government look at “fairness” when it comes to paid vacations for the unemployed?
